  1. Hi Andrea!

I’m a 28 years old spanish guy, and I’m thinking about to go to Japan to study in one of thouse japanese game schools. I have the JLPT2 and I’ve lived for two years in Kyoto. Maybe my question is a little bit stupid but, do you think isn’t late for me studing in such a school? I mean, shall I fell integrate in a place where mostly all students are probably 20 or less?

Isn’t the school too much expensive? The fee payment is for all the four years or do you pay each year?

    Thanks in advance

Well, first off the answer for that needs to come ultimately from you. If it’s something that you really want to do, chances are you’ll be able to make room for it in your life. As for me, I’m 25 right now. I don’t know how that’s going to affect my studies, but if anything comes up it’ll be on my other blog.

You pay each year. HAL is actually cheaper than say, Guildhall. The first semester worked out to be just shy of $15,000 (that’s for the first year of the 4 year program), but Guildhall (according to it’s website) is $40,000 for the full 2 year program.

I’m in the process of doing a writeup on some questions regarding tuition, scholarships, and jobs, but since you can read Japanese I would recommend that you visit HAL’s FAQ page on their site. You can also contact them with questions if you want to know more about scholarships or part-time jobs.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
