		<description>I loved these &lt;i&gt;Language Log&lt;/i&gt; articles as well.  I think we could really make a concise &#039;valid apology test&#039; based on their analysis.  There is another conversation about political apologies during the first 10 minutes of a recent &lt;i&gt;This American Life&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://thislife.org/Radio_Episode.aspx?sched=1239&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Mistakes Were Made&lt;/a&gt;.  I have to say, though, that I don&#039;t think that the example that Ira Glass points to as a &#039;real apology&#039; measures up.  Grammatically, maybe it does... but I think that in order to pass my validity test, I&#039;d want the guilty party to acknowledge how their actions were hurtful and why they are wrong.</description>
