I’ve changed the way that blockquotes are formatted in an effort to make them more readable.
This is what the new blockquoting format looks like. Do you find it more readable? Less readable? Do you have suggestions for making it better?
Thanks!

More readable.

I actually find it less readable.. I think the yellow causes a little bit of a colour clash and it strains my eyes. I was quite happy with the old blockquotes/
But then again I am just an MRA dissenter so just ignore me.

Hmm, it’s supposed to just be a lighter shade of green, but I do agree that the colour is still off. I’ll play with it tomorrow when I have time. Thanks for the input!

Didn’t the text used to switch to sans-serif and smaller, as opposed to unblockquoted text, which was serif and larger?
I thought that helped a LOT with readability and was thinking about adopting it myself

Yes, it did. And it had a darker background and blue text.
I just found that, for larger blocks of quoted text, the font was too small, and the sans-serif hurt my eyes. Sans-serif usually is not a good choice for reading long blocks of text, and indeed is not recommended by any style guides because it’s harder to read. (It’s great for headings and other small bits of text, though).
I wouldn’t mind switching to another kind of serif-font, but it’s hard to find good fonts that are default on both PC and Mac.
